About Victo Ngai
Victo Ngai is a Los Angeles-based artist raised in Hong Kong. The work of this Forbes 30 Under 30 (Art and Style) honoree and Society of Illustrators Gold Medalist has often been described as magical realism. Each creation in Victo's world is layered with symbolism and stories that reveal more each time the viewer is engaged. The visual results of her artistic journey take inspiration in part from her Chinese heritage, and art education at the Rhode Island School of Design, a love for classic children's books, and Japanese ukiyo-e.
Victo provides illustrations for newspaper and magazines such as the New York Times and the New Yorker; create storyboards and art for animations with studios like NBC and Dreamworks; makes books for publishers such as Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, Folio Society, and Macmillan; and works on packaging and advertisement campaigns for Apple, Johnnie Walker, American Express, Lufthansa Airline, and General Electric.
