About Us
New York Puzzle Company makes jigsaw puzzles that feel like little works of art. We exist to bring people moments of joy, discovery, and togetherness — and we've been doing it long enough to know that a great puzzle is a great gift to yourself and everyone in the room.

We're a growing brand with a passionate customer base, an expanding wholesale footprint, and an eye on global markets. We're a small, tight team — the kind where everyone's work matters and everyone can see it.

The Role
We're looking for a senior player-coach to own our B2B wholesale relationships and grow our retailer network — someone who can set strategy and still roll up their sleeves to get into the detail.

You'll report directly to the founder and sit at the table for strategic decisions. You'll inherit a solid base of retailer relationships and an ambition that needs architecture.

What you’ll own:

  • Wholesale strategy & account management
    • Grow and deepen our retailer network across independents, key accounts, specialty, and gift channels

    • Build a customer acquisition strategy and manage the inbound sales pipeline

    • Generate sales promotions, seasonal opportunities, and display programs that make it easy for retailers to say yes

    • Define targeted programs through analysis of product, price, promotion, and merchandising

    • Handle customer service escalations that require managerial approval

  • Rep network & team leadership
    • Oversee our national network of 12+ outside sales agencies and independent rep groups

    • Motivate and supervise Key Account Sales Reps

    • Organize ongoing training, account reviews, and results-focused coaching to keep the rep network sharp

  • Revenue planning & reporting
    • Set ambitious but grounded revenue targets and forecast accurately

    • Prepare the annual sales team budget and revenue forecasts

    • Monitor and manage sales expenses including tradeshows and showroom fees

    • Track and report with real rigor: leads, conversion, CAC, channel ROI, customer LTV, and LTGP

    • Report clearly and regularly to leadership

  • Sales marketing & tradeshows
    • Set and implement wholesale marketing strategy and budget

    • Identify the marketing investments — tradeshows, email, SEO, partnerships, campaigns — with the highest ROI

    • Own the feedback loop between what marketing generates and what sales closes

    • Define the annual tradeshow program, attend key shows, manage expenses, and measure spend against accounts opened

    • Collaborate with marketing and graphics on sales collateral

  • Market intelligence & strategy
    • Evaluate the current market landscape and recommend and implement strategy

    • Research market trends and industry competition to stay ahead

    • Identify new business and partnership opportunities

    • Achieve revenue, account diversification, and alternative business channel goals

  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Work closely with product development to help define product opportunities and align on assortment and timing

    • Collaborate with operations to align on fulfillment timing and brand positioning at retail

    • Build the sales infrastructure — CRM, pipeline management, account reviews — that scales

Who you are:

  • 7 to 10 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in consumer goods, gifts, games, or specialty retail
  • A track record of opening and scaling wholesale accounts — from pitch to PO to reorder
  • Comfortable being the closer and the coach — this role requires both
  • Data-driven and organized: you know your numbers, your pipeline, your close rates, your LTV and LTGP
  • A genuine communicator — clear, direct, and able to represent a brand with warmth and conviction
  • Actively using AI tools in your day-to-day work as a multiplier of your own productivity
  • Aligned with who we are: a small company that takes its work seriously without taking itself too seriously

Bonus: Performance-based, tied to new account and revenue targets
Location: Fully remote (need to adapt to EST and CET time zones)
